World Environment Day

Every year on June 6 is celebrated as World Environment Day. Unfortunately this day is celebrated for the namesake only. Especially, Indians blindly follow the world in this matter. If you happen to see houses, offices, and other establishments in various places around us we can understand how well we maintain our surroundings. Individuals and society can be made into environmental-friendly only if there are strict legislation and acts. Another important thing is Environmental Studies should be part of our curriculum. Why can't we change our houses also a better place for Social Environment. I remember "Adams and Eves" by Anand Kumar Raju in which he has written about eve-teasing and causes in which he says that if social environment is improved eve-teasing can be minimised if not completely removed.
